Matchday 12 sees Borussia Dortmund play host to VfB Stuttgart. The Black & Yellows have won each of their previous six home games this season and will be aiming to continue that run on Saturday (kick-off at 15:30 CET). "We hope that one or two players will return during the international break," stated Marco Rose prior to the recent international fixtures – a reference to the injury situation. The day before facing VfB Stuttgart, the BVB coach was able to list several probable returnees. Youssoufa Moukoko, who left the Germany U21 camp prematurely due to an eye infection, and Raphael Guerreiro have made the most progress. Both are options for the game against Stuttgart. "Rapha has two weeks of team training under his belt. With him, however, we have to look ahead Wednesday and ensure we don't completely burn him out in two games after the break," Rose said in reference to the Champions League match in Lisbon next week. "It's a case of finding a good level of players tomorrow with Wednesday in mind." Dan-Axel Zagadou will also be factored into the plans given that UEFA has suspended Mats Hummels for one Champions League match following his red card. The coach confirmed this at the press conference. "Mats Hummels will be suspended for Wednesday's game in Lisbon; Daxo will play an important role for us then," Rose said. Zagadou will first be given the chance to get some minutes under his belt with the U23s, who are away in Halle on Saturday. "We believe that the U23s will edge him closer to the starting XI, that it will give him a good feeling and that he can take another step forward from a physical point of view." Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud were integrated into team training this week. While Can may harbour hopes of making a brief appearance against Stuttgart, Dahoud's focus is on the game in Lisbon. Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel also completed "integrative training this week. We will take a closer look at that today," explained Rose, who also praised Marwin Hitz and Roman Bürki. "We are well staffed in this position and have great confidence in all our goalkeepers." Kobel's ex-club VfB Stuttgart, whom he left to join BVB this summer, will be the guests in Dortmund. Rose has not yet asked his goalkeeper about the Swabians, though. Instead, the coach has taken a close look at their recent matches. "I think the team tomorrow will be the Stuttgart from last season plus a few returnees. They've had a few absentees in their past games," Rose said. "It's a team that plays very a intense and aggressive game off the ball. They have a clear idea of how they want to occupy spaces." Stuttgart currently sit 15th in the table. The Swabians are still without a win away from home, but have only lost one of their last four matches (plus three draws).
