What's your History?
Our BVB story starts at home, with a family of 4 passionate about the game of football, particularly the one being played in Germany by a certain team in black and yellow. Over time that passion caught on with our extended family, then with our friends, and then with their friends. In 2018 we created a Twitter account, and with that we have been able to connect with other Borussen from all over the country and the world, currently hosting almost 1200 fans.
Why do you love BVB?
The love for BVB grows deeper than football, although that's obviously the first thing that catches your eye. The beautiful colours, the unique stadium, the roaring crowds, and the electrifying style of play, capable of putting even the most casual of fans on the edge of his seat play a huge part in luring into the club but what really gets you is what happens outside the pitch. Stories of relegation, of being on the brink of bankruptcy, of a city, badly struck by the closing of mines; and a club that has risen from its ashes, learned from its mistakes, and shined like a beacon of light, all whilst fighting homophobia and fascism. That's BVB. And that's why I love it.
What's your most memorable BVB-Moment?
Probably the 2017 DFB Pokal final. It was the first time a lot of our members got to experience BVB glory, and it was also a very emotional moment due to what had happened with the team bus getting attacked a little over a month earlier. Seeing our players celebrate after all that they had been through brought joy to everyone that day.
