U23s sign Baran Mogultay

Borussia Dortmund's U23s are strengthening their squad for the coming season with the addition of Baran Mogultay. The 19-year-old left-back will join on a free transfer from MSV Duisburg and sign a contract until the summer of 2027.

Mogultay has history in Dortmund: the young defender played for BV Westfalia Wickede at U12 level and joined MSV via VfB Waltrop in 2017. He has since progressed through all the youth teams in Duisburg. Last season, the former Germany U18 international made his debut in the 3. Liga and has made a total of 22 appearances in the starting line-up for the Zebras.

U23 coach Jan Zimmermann comments: "I've been to Duisburg a lot over the past two years to watch upcoming opponents. Baran has always caught my eye. Despite his young age, he's very composed and confident. I see great potential in him on the left flank. I'm looking forward to working with him and helping him to develop further with us."

Baran Mogultay says: "I would like to thank MSV Duisburg for their trust in me and my training. I was able to play in the 3rd tier early on and gain important experience. Now I'm happy to take the next step and play for BVB. I'm looking forward to the coming years at Borussia Dortmund."
