The Borussia Dortmund women's team have rounded off their three-day training camp in Willingen by beating their SVW Ahnatal counterparts in a friendly. Coach Thomas Sulewski's charges ran out 5-0 (2-0) winners against the Kreisoberliga outfit, with Kimberly Becker, Hannah Goosmann, Laura Höhl (two) and Annika Herbig scoring for the Black & Yellows.

"I'm very satisfied," commented Sulewski after the final whistle. "After some early difficulties, we seized the initiative and played forward in a very tidy, structured and mature manner. We created a lot of chances and converted them well too. It was very solid, despite several absences and some experiments on the pitch," the BVB coach added.

At the outset, the Borussia women appeared a bit heavy-legged from their sessions during the training camp, with unnecessary losses of possession and minor passing errors making for a disjointed opening 10 minutes. The first chance fell to Carolin Kaul in a central position in the box, though Ahnatal's goalkeeper did well to save it (13). Barely two minutes later, Hannah Goosmann shot from a centre-left position but the SVW custodian kept that one out as well.

The Black & Yellows continued to apply pressure and got the breakthrough shortly afterwards: BVB captain Lisa Klemann squared the ball to Kimberly Becker from the right level with the box, and Dortmund's No. 5 drove a low effort into the bottom corner to make it 1-0 (21). There was further cause for celebration only a minute later as Hannah Goosmann touched down a long ball from the BVB defence and lobbed the keeper from 11 metres to make it 2-0.

The two goals served as a confidence booster for Sulewski's side, who completely dictated the game until the break and repeatedly carved open chances. One of the best ones came in the 36th minute when the SVW goalie completely missed Virginia Glänzer's cross from the left. Allegra Gerres was left with an open goal but she missed the chance to make it 3-0 by a matter of centimetres, and the half-time whistle sounded with the score 2-0.

Captain Lisa Klemann & Co. continued where they had left off in the second period. Ana Zabell missed from point-blank range in the 48th minute, before substitute Ann-Katrin Lau set up Laura Höhl in the 55th minute and she fed the ball through the Ahnatal goalie's legs to make it 3-0. BVB continued to dominate until the end, with Annika Herbig and Laura Höhl taking it in turns to set up the other in the final minutes as it went to 4-0 (89) and then 5-0 (90).

Overall, Thomas Sulewski's conclusion following the three-day training camp in Willingen was positive. "It was a super training camp, the conditions and the surroundings were spot on; it was all brilliant. The girls all pulled together and worked a lot but also had fun as well. We took a big step forward especially in terms of interpersonal relationships; the girls had the chance to get to know each other even better. Something like that simply brings you together."

Prior to starting their campaign at home to BV Brambauer, the BVB women have one more friendly on the agenda: they will take on the SV Solingen reserves on Saturday at 13:00 CET (Leimbachstadion).

BVB: König - Prinzen, Pörteners (Herbig, 46), Becker, Goosmann (Lau, 46), Bergmann (Kaul, 65), Kaul (Jung, 46), Gerres (Höhl, 46), Klemann, Glänzen, Zabell
