Two wins in three games! The Borussia Dortmund women's football team ran out comfortable winners in their first clash with another Kreisliga club from the region. Approximately 1,000 fans were at a well-attended Jahnstadion in Kamen to see coach Thomas Sulewski's side claim a straightforward 3-0 (2-0) victory away to VfL Kamen, who play in the same tier.

The goals in the opening half came from Ann-Katrin Lau and Vanessa Heim in the fifth and 35th minutes respectively, with Hannah Goosmann rounding off the deserved win on 65 minutes. "Our willingness to run was a bit lacking in the first half; we were clearly better, but the final ball to create clear-cut chances was missing," said Borussia boss Thomas Sulewski as he reflected upon his team's display. "But I was absolutely satisfied with the attitude after the break."

The result is one thing, the superiority another matter entirely: the Black & Yellows, who were clear favourites, dominated throughout, were always quicker to the ball and were, despite a few errors on the ball, technically more adept. The win was highly deserved also due to their superiority in the challenges, especially in the second half.

In terms of chances, too, the margin could have been much higher. But after a 3-1 win in the opening match against 1860 Munich and a 1-0 loss against Niederrhein outfit Eintracht Solingen, coach Thomas Sulewski was satisfied with the performance from his charges, who have only been working together for four weeks. "I learned important lessons from the game. And our on-the-ball play simply needs more practice, we've only just got together," explained the coach.

The match was more or less over by the interval. Ann-Katrin Lob converted a lovely lob to give her side an early 1-0 lead in the fifth minute. Vanessa Heim then scored a direct free-kick on 35 minutes to make it 2-0. There was a brief setback on the hour mark when BVB captain Lisa Klemann had to be subbed off after a foul. "Purely a precautionary measure," according to Sulewski. Ann-Katrin Lau, who had earlier been substituted, came back on for Klemann.

But the Black & Yellows still managed to get another goal after the break. Only five minutes after the BVB captain's exit, Hannah Goosmann scored a solo goal to round off the 3-0 win. The Dortmund women had earlier missed two chances to further increase their advantage.

All in all, there was a great atmosphere at the Jahnstadion in Kamen. And BVB proved their immense pulling power for the entire region and for women's football. The stands were packed with around 1,000 fans. The floodlights were switched on for the second period, creating a brilliant atmosphere. And the performances from both sides made it worth the watch too.

BVB: Sandra Schröer (Stefanie Scheibe, 46) – Lisa Klemann (Ann-Katrin Lau, 60), Marina Jung, Virginia Glänzer (Lilli Verena Prinzen), Denise Pörteners - Luisa Bergmann (Ana Louisa Zabell, 46), Lea Rogge-Herper - Laura Höhl (Allegra Gerres, 46), Kimberly Becker (Anika Billig, 46), Vanessa Heim - Ann-Katrin Lau (Hannah Goosmann, 46)

Goals: 1-0 Lau (5), 2-0 Heim (35), 3-0 Goosmann (69)
